Tanzanite is the violet blue to blue violet variety of the mineral Zoisite. It is mined commercially only in one area of the world: the Merelani Hills of Tanzania, which is where it gets its name. Its natural inclusions contribute to its beauty, adding ethereal sparkle while accentuating the gem's violet undertones.
This stunning Tanzanite ring is sterling & 14kt yellow gold. Rob took a retired silver Cuirnean ring and modified it with a 7.69ct (13x8.5mm) oval Tanzanite cabochon in a gold bezel and accented it with 2 large gold beads on the sides. The ring measures 1/2" at the top and narrows to a 1/8" smooth shank at the back.
