Tsavorite has earned its place as one of the world’s finest colored gemstones. Its pure green hues, durability and rareness have attracted gem collectors and jewelry lovers alike. Its high refractive index and dispersion levels, make this stunning green gemstone incredibly sparkly and eye catching. Tsavorite formed in a Neoproterozoic metamorphic event which involved extensive folding and refolding of rock. This resulted in a wide range of inclusions forming within most Tsavorite crystals. These inclusions are strong identifying features in Tsavorite. They are not considered flaws.
This rectangle, cushion cut Tsavorite Garnet weighs 1.90cts and measures 9x7mm. It is basket set on the 14kt yellow gold Mwynen Ring, which features curving, pierced knotwork.
