Gwenllian Ring, gold

Gwenllian Ring, infinity knot enclosed within graceful curved lines, side view.

The Gwenllian Ring is named for Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd, a Welsh princess who is the only known example of a medieval period woman leading a Welsh army into battle. A description of the battle reads, “She marched like the Queen of the Amazons and a second Penthesileia leading her army.”

The Gwenllian Ring features an infinity knot enclosed within curved edges that have a curled end and bead on each side. The ring measures just over 1/4 inch at the top and tapers to a 1/16 inch smooth shank.
