Pendant with heart, sword and 6mm gemstone.

The Luckenboothe is a traditional Scottish love token. The name is taken from the luckenbooths of Edinburgh, which were lockable booths where merchants would sell their wares, including jewelry. These symbols of love and devotion became so popular that by the mid-18th century, luckenbooth tokens were heavily traded to the North American Indians, particularly the Iroquois. As a result, luckenbooth brooches also became a common decorative symbol in 18th and early 19th century native clothing.

We proudly present the Buanas Gem Luckenboothe Pendant, Buanas is a Scots-Gaelic word meaning lasting. Rob's newest interpretation of the traditional Luckenboothe features a heart (love) crossed with a sword (loyalty) and has a 6mm cabochon gemstone set in the center. Pictured here with an Amethyst.

The pendant measures just under 1 1/2 inches long and is 1 1/4 inches wide.
